EDUCATION & PROGRAM EXPERIENCE MANAGER

 
 
Position Overview:  The Education & Program Experience Manager has a primary responsibility for the education component of the mission of Station Gallery, and directly reports to the CEO.  This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week).
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the evolution of the education program by researching, coordinating and overseeing an innovative, relevant schedule of education programming for onsite, outreach and school based initiatives that support an environment of economic, intellectual and physical accessibility and the celebration of cultural diversity.
  • Teach and oversee education and outreach programs as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices, trends and standards in education, including integration of 21st century learning models, curriculum goals and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with area cultural and educational institutions, fellow educators, community groups and artists to further the mission of Station Gallery, and develop opportunities for collaboration and inspiration.
  • Identify professional artist instructors for appropriate programs; develop and manage education contracts and resources; train support staff in relevant activities; integrate professional development sessions into seasonal programming; and provide leadership and direction to staff to advise, support, motivate and ensure the accomplishment of set objectives.
  • Research and identify key grantors for possible funding, provide data and information relevant to grant and corporate proposals, and oversee applications and project documentation.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications staff to ensure promotion and marketing of education activities.
  • Implement a high standard of excellence in administration, and maintain financial management and control for the education department and its related outreach initiatives, including the annual budget, financial analyses, capital forecasts, records, timelines, evaluations and assessment reports.
  • Develop and ensure due diligence related to the education program is executed, ensuring the safety of program participants.
  • Analyze attendance and revenue statistics to ensure budget targets are achieved.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

 
Skills and Competencies:

  • Degree in art, education or closely related field
  • Experience as an educator or working in an arts education environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal, visual, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing support staff and volunteers
  • Proven grant writing experience
  • Strong relationship manager with ability to collaborate
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective administrative skills and proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Experience planning and managing budgets
  • Experience creating and executing documented plans
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, ethical conduct and responsibility

 
Position Requires: Physical effort with occasional use of power equipment, moderate lifting, reaching, bending, stretching and use of ladders; and a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to supply a current criminal records check and vulnerable sector police screening upon conditional offer of employment.
