“My art is the balance of two worlds. The initial world is one of intellect, geometry and order bound by strong craftsmanship. The other world is soft, organic, sensitive and instinctive. These two worlds combined are the foundation of my art, the result of which is the starting point of the viewer’s imagination.”
- Leszek Wyczolkowski

Polish-born artist Leszek Wyczolkowski received his initial training from his father and later formative training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After immigrating to Canada in 1978, Wyczolkowski continued his education at the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto, graduating with honours in 1982.

This solo exhibition concentrates on the artist’s painting and print production. Beyond Geometry carefully charts an inner life that is both poignant and deliberate. Here too, we’ll find artistic strategies and sensibilities that brush-up with works in Station Gallery’s permanent collection, as well as the newly acquired Toronto 20 print suite—concurrently on display in our Heritage Gallery.
